Dean M. Schroeder has authored or coauthored three books and more than eighty articles. He is the Herbert and Agnes Schulz Professor of Management at Valparaiso University in Indiana. He is a two-time Shingo Prize winner, and for five years he served on the board of the U.S. Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. He earned a PhD in strategic management from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, and he has a BS in engineering from Minnesota and an MBA from the University of Montana.
