Her spirited and results-driven approach to collaborating with Line Executives and Human Resources Leaders has helped her clients bring about development for their leaders, workforce, and businesses.
Wendy is a recognized expert in manager-driven, work-centered development. For three decades, both as a corporate HR executive of a Fortune 100 company and external consultant, she has helped organizations substantially increase their development efforts, working directly with thousands of managers in workshops and coaching engagements in the US and other countries. As the co-author of the practical book "Make Talent Your Business: How exceptional managers develop people while getting results", her research identified the practices which make managers outstanding at growing talent. Wendy partcularly enjoys helping managers realize their intersts in becoming inspired talent developers, making every day a development day for their team members.
Wendy speaks regularly about this at corporate and public conferences, such as the Conference Board, Association of Talent Development (ATD), SHRM, and the World HRD Congress. She is also part of the renowned faculty of The Institute For Management Studies (IMS), providing workshops in various locations in the US. Wendy serves as a Coach for AthenaOnLine, the world's leading producer of short targeted content for employee and manager development. Her works have appeared in SmartBriefs on Leadership, Leader to Leader, Leadership Excellence, Training Magazine, AMA, Journal of HR People and Strategy, and other US and European publications. Wendy is also a chapter author of two ASTD Handbooks (2012 and 2014) and contributor to two ATD (Association for Talent Development) books (2015).
Wendy is a dynamic volunteer leader with professional associations and non-profits. As long time board member and former President of the Philadelphia Affiliate of Human Resource People and Strategy organization, Wendy has been one of two individuals to receive their Life Time Achievement Award. The "best practice"' Mentoring Program she launched and leads, now in its 13th year, has received wide attention. Wendy also supports University of Pennsylvania Wharton's School Global Consulting Practicum as member of the Devil's Advocate panel. She has served on several nonprofit boards, and speaks at Professional Association meetings and conferences.
Her undergraduate degree was received from Drexel University where she was awarded the M.M. Creese Scholarship and Award for Outstanding Senior Woman of the University. Wendy's graduate degrees, culminating with a Ph.D. in Organization Psychology, are from Colorado State University. She is licensed in many leadership development tools.
Wendy has two sons, three step children and enjoys life just outside Philadelphia with her husband Andy.
