Elaine Biech (Author)
Elaine Biech is president of ebb associates inc, a strategic implementation, leadership development, and experiential learning consulting firm. She has been in the field over thirty years helping organizations work through large-scale change and helping teams increase productivity. She has presented at over 100 national and international conferences and has been featured in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Harvard Management Update, Investors’ Business Daily, and Fortune Magazine.
Elaine is the author and editor of over 60 books and was the editor for the prestigious Pfeiffer Annuals--both Consulting and Training--for 16 years. She was instrumental in compiling the CPLP Study Guides for ATD (formerly ASTD) and has designed six ATD Certificate Programs. Elaine designs customized learning and development efforts for private and public organizations. She has her BS from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in Business and Education Consulting, and her MS in Human Resource Development.
A longtime volunteer for ATD, Elaine is active at the national and international levels, serving on the 1990 National Conference Design Committee, a member of the National ASTD Board of Directors and the Society’s Secretary from 1991-1994, initiating and chairing Consultants’ Day for seven years, and as the International Conference Design Chair in 2000. In addition to her work with ATD, she also served on the Instructional Systems Association (ISA) board of directors.
Elaine has been the recipient of numerous awards including the 1992 ASTD Torch Award, the 2004 ASTD Volunteer Staff Partnership Award, and the 2006 ASTD Gordon Bliss Memorial Award. She was the 1995 Wisconsin Women Entrepreneur’s Mentor Award recipient, and in 2012, the inaugural CPLP Fellow Program Honoree from the ASTD Certification Institute. In 2001 she received ISA’s highest award, the ISA Spirit Award and in 2012 was recognized as ISA’s Outstanding Contributor. She currently serves on the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) Board of Governors and is Berrett-Koehler’s Curator for Advances in Leadership and Management.
